In October 2025, Sarhang Hamasaeed participated in the 2025 Middle East Research Institute (MERI) Forum and moderated a public discussion with H.E. Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, on democracy and governance, elections, youth and future leaders in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, and relations with the United States, Iran, Türkiye, and Syria.
